WORD FROM THE PRESIDENT
The Nigeria-Japan Chamber of Commerce, established in 1995, was born out of a deep passion and a clear vision to promote and expand trade between Japan and Nigeria. My enthusiasm was particularly strong, as I had just returned to Nigeria from Japan and was eager to replicate some of the remarkable business successes I had witnessed there.
We began with great momentum. However, as the journey unfolded, we encountered several challenges. As the saying goes, “the devil is in the details.” The economic downturn in Nigeria further complicated matters, impacting the business community significantly.
Today, I am proud to announce that we are back—stronger, better, and more determined. We are reconnecting with our former members and warmly inviting new members with a keen interest in fostering bilateral trade with Japan to join us.
In addition, we are actively collaborating with our counterparts at the Japan-Nigeria Chamber of Commerce in Tokyo to align our efforts and strengthen trade ties between our two countries. This shared mission remains the cornerstone of our chamber’s objectives.
Looking ahead to 2025, we have an exciting lineup of activities. These include our annual meetings, business delegations to Japan focused on renewable energy, the Osaka Expo, and the International Conference for African Development (TICAD). These initiatives are designed to create new opportunities and deepen our engagement.
I encourage you to share your ideas and insights, particularly on policy development, business opportunities, and export processes to Japan. This is your chance to contribute and benefit from this dynamic platform.
Reach out to our secretariat today, and let’s begin this journey together.
