…as Udungwor emphasizes the importance of leveraging networking connections
With the Nigeria Slovenia-Chamber of Commerce having achieved historic milestones in its bilateral cooperation, the organization’s Director-General, Mr. Uche Udungwor, cautioned members and the public to take advantage of the chamber’s networking opportunities as the 2024 business year came to a close.
On Tuesday, November 12, 2024, Udungwor made the revelation and request during a chamber-sponsored event at TFC Place, Festac Town, Lagos, with the topic “Nigeria-Slovenia Business Networking.”
With a focus on commercial opportunities in both nations, the event, which was co-sponsored by Spirit Slovenia, the Public Agency for Investment, Entrepreneurship and Internalization, under the Ministry of Economy, Tourism, and Sports, Republic of Slovenia, drew business and trade titans from Nigeria.
According to Odungwor, networking is essential for gaining a deeper comprehension of the activities of the members, which, if properly utilized, may result in some economic transactions. “Some business owners here will have the chance to introduce their companies to the forum as part of the networking exercise today, so that the forum can better understand what they do and perhaps make some business deals.”
“With the relationship the chamber has with Spirit Slovenia, we usually end our business year on the 18th of November. Most of the time, the chambers of commerce in other countries within this period ramp up their business activities so that they can send in their reports on or before the 18th,” Udungwor said in reference to the 2024 business year. As a result, commercial terms like business networking are always used.
During our October Breakfast Forum, which had as its theme “Slovenia, Your Business Partner,” around two weeks ago, I did let us know that the chamber’s final program for the 2024 Business Year would take place today. I also told us in the same forum that today’s program will provide members a chance to communicate with one another.
The Nigerian/Slovenia Chamber of Commerce is a bilateral chamber tasked with advancing the mutual economic interests of Slovenia and Nigeria, according to Udungwor, who also briefed those who had recently joined the chamber.
He continued by outlining some of the Nigeria-Slovenia Chamber of Commerce’s goals. “The organization’s goals include, but are not limited to, serving as a forum for representatives of Slovenian and Nigerian business interests; promoting and enhancing trade, commerce, investment, and development between the two nations; fostering and maintaining extensive communication and interaction in commercial, industrial, and other business domains; and serving as a focal point for the establishment and facilitation of business collaboration between investors from both countries.”
“It is also to promote exchange of ideas and advise members on opportunities, challenges, and applicable legislative framework of both countries; to organize trade fairs, exhibitions, conferences, seminars, and other forums of business engagements geared towards boosting the economic prosperity of both countries; and to confer, consult, maintain contacts, and cooperate with (s) organizations, institutions, or bodies of people established in Nigeria or Slovenia that have objectives that are entirely or partially similar to those of the Chamber,” he continued.
After listing the Nigeria/Slovenia Chamber of Commerce’s (NSCC) main initiatives, Udungwor urged everyone to take use of the Chamber’s strong position to grow their own companies.
