WORD FROM THE PRESIDENT

The Nigeria-Japan Chamber of Commerce was established in 1995 with passion and vision of promoting and expanding volume of trade between Japan and Nigeria. The passion was so overwhelming because I just returned to Nigeria from Japan then and was in a hurry to replicate most of the iconic business empires I witnessed in Japan.

As it were, we started on a great note. However, there were many bumps on the ride because executing a vision is not the same as dreaming a vision, as popular idiom always say the devil is in the detail. We enjoyed the ride until Nigerian economy hit the iceberg which affected the business community.

But I am glad to announce we are back. Back, stronger and better. Whilst we are knocking on doors of our former members to come back on board, we are also inviting new members who have strong interest in bilateral trade with Japan to come on board.

We have started reaching out to our Japanese counterpart organization; the Japan-Nigeria Chamber of Commerce in Tokyo to commence oursynchronisation effort to strengthen and expand trade between the two  countries which is the singular goal of this chamber.

It will be worth mentioning that Nigeria-Japan Chamber of Commerce has enlisted strong activities for next year, 2025. From our annual meetings to various business delegations to Japan for Renewable energy, Osaka expo and the International Conference for African Development TICAD in Japan. And much more.

I would like to use this opportunity to ask for your inputs in terms of desired policy formulation, business opportunities and export opportunities and processes to Japan.

Take the opportunity, reach out to our secretariat and let’s start interfacing with you immediately.

MANDYKING E. IJOMA

President,

Nigeria-Japan Chamber of Commerce.
