March 09, 2026 Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Tafawa Balewa House), Abuja.
Strategic Diplomacy: NIJACC Leadership Meets with Minister of Foreign Affairs to Advance Nigeria-Japan Trade

The leadership of the Nigeria-Japan Chamber of Commerce (NIJACC), led by President Chf. Ekene Mandyking E. Ijoma and the Executive Secretary,  Dr. Jude E. Mbonu recently held a high-level consultative meeting with the Honourable Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar.

This engagement was centered on aligning the Chamber’s private-sector initiatives with Nigeria’s '4D' foreign policy—Democracy, Development, Diaspora, and Demography. With a shared vision of deepening bilateral cooperation, the discussion focused on creating a seamless framework for Japanese technology transfer and industrial investment in Nigeria.

Ambassador Tuggar, known for his proactive stance on economic diplomacy, emphasized the Ministry’s commitment to supporting credible business organizations like the NJCC in their quest to bridge the trade gap between Abuja and Tokyo.

For the NIJACC, this meeting reinforces our position as the primary facilitator for Japanese enterprise in West Africa. We are committed to ensuring that the diplomatic milestones achieved by the Ministry are translated into tangible business opportunities, job creation, and sustainable economic growth for both nations.
